Checking your visa conditions

1. Visa Grant Notice

Your Visa Grant Notice contains a letter from the Department of Home Affairs. This letter describes your rights in Australia, as well as your work and study limitations. This information is written specifically for your visa type.

2. Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)

You can use the Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO) to see your current visa details and conditions.

You will need your:

  • valid passport
  • Transaction Reference Number (TRN), Visa Grant Number or Visa Evidence Number
  • your personal details, such as your date of birth

You can also use VEVO to email your visa details to another person, like your employer or a landlord.

If you have lost your TRN, Visa Grant Number or Visa Evidence Number, you can request a VEVO reference number using the Department of Home Affair's VEVO Request for Reference Number Form.

You will need a scan of your passport bio-page, the type of visa and when your visa was granted
You can use your mobile device to check your visa entitlements through the MyVevo App.
